Welcome to Bookatour - We specialize in fishing charters in Dunedin & Moeraki New Zealand.
Do you love Blue Cod and the smell of the ocean? Add in a beer and you have a really refreshing day out with Bookatour and their fishing team.
100% NZ owned and operated by locals who have a passion for the ocean, quality service and sustainability.
Our day starts with a pickup from a location of your choice before a short 1 hour drive on our private bus to Moeraki an authentic seaside village that offers some of the best fishing in the South Island. Our fishing charters in Moeraki are tailored to ensure you enjoy the South Island scenery as well as catching an array of fish. You'll spend the day out in the open water fishing for Blue Cod, Hāpuka, Terakihi, Sea Perch, and anything else that bites!

What To Expect
Our days start with an early rise normally leaving between 6 – 8am ( tide dependant). Bookatour pick you up in their comfortable coach with karaoke onboard and a blue tooth speaker for some sounds and we are off. After arrival into Moeraki you are welcomed aboard by the Fishing Charter team and we are off for a 4 hour fish.
Please note in Summertime we are able to offer afternoon fishing charters/ early evening charters as well so please enquire.
The Vessel
This commercial fishing boat is the largest of the fleet 20 metres long which means its more of a stable boat meaning with plenty of room for your group to fish and move about.
There is also a toilet on board for your convenience & loads of shade in the cabin.
Transport
All transport to and from Moeraki is provided in this cost. We aim to make only one pickup and one drop off point so please ensure everyone is organized. Our bus is a comfortable Toyota Coaster Delux and you can feel free to have a drink on board if you wish.
Do I need To Know How To Fish?
No with our gear its all very straight forward and our team are there to help any one unsure. We even bait your rods and change your hooks!
Will I Catch Fish?
Yes we can never guarantee the amounts but we aim to send everyone home with a good bag of fish! All fish caught is filleted and bagged for you by our experienced Moeraki fishing charter team and shared amongst the entire group out.
Sea Sickness
Please ensure you take a sea legs prior to departing Dunedin on pick up. This is IMPORTANT even for those who may feel they are “seasoned” at sea. There is nothing worse than being sick on your day out and not being able to enjoy it – so please just “pop” that little pill.
We can provide Sea Legs for you on request and do have a supply on board for $2 per tablet.
What To Wear
Dress like an onion! Loads of layers sometimes the wind is cool and sometimes all that is needed is a pair of shorts, however no 2 days are the same so please ensure you wear layers that are easily removed or added.
Jackets
Please ensunre you have a warm jacket available – there is nothing worse than being cold!
Footwear
It is recommended that you wear gumboots or other water tight shoes – although sneakers are fine you will get wet feet !
Group Bookings
This is an ideal way to end the work year for you workplace. We can take 19 on board but we prefer to sit around the 17 mark for comfort fishing. We have a policy that if your group requires the boat to themselves we need to have a minimum number of 12 passengers – otherwise please join our singles/couples groups we make up..
Single & Couples
Yes we can add you to other customers bookings this way it ensures fishing is accessible to everyone unable to make a large group up.
